Get Ready for the Carnival Season

Dear Friend,

carnival season is coming up and it’s time to put on a costume. How do you want to express yourself this year?

Often we get surprised when our friends turn up at the carnival and show a whole new, and often more flamboyant and colorful, side of themselves.

We humans are indeed complex beings with hidden resources and powers inside. We also have darker sides that can be out of control and obstruct us. This is the fascinating reality of any human being on this planet. Wouldn’t it be interesting to explore these sides of yourself; to explore and bring order in this your inner world?

Here is what you can do:

A) Take a fresh look at yourself in different situations: at work, with various friends, in traffic, shopping or dealing and wheeling; engaging in some kind of sports, like playing or watching a ball game, etc., etc.

 

B) In each situation find a name for your identity at work. If your name is Mo, it could be Mo the Worker; Mo the Understanding Friend; Mo the fierce driver; Mo the Wheeler and Dealer; Mo the Dirty Trickster, etc., etc.
 

C) Now, recall other such situations and find and describe for yourself the dominating emotions, thoughts, and how the body felt and acted in such situations.
 

You will find each type of situation is dominated by its own set of thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Controlled by its own set of ambitions and concerns.

In DEEP we work to integrate all these factors that often are in conflict with each other. All these emotions, energies, thoughts and efforts. Both the powerful ones and the darker ones. They all contain some of your power and life force.
 

The power and control should always be with you. It is a very worthwhile undertaking to reestablish this control and mastery. Doing that, you are well on your way to realize your full potential.
 

So our advice to you in this carnival season is to fully express yourself in all your life situations. Then in a quiet moment of that day do the analysis described above.
